ODG: Kingdom of Dust

Using photographs and video footage, young artists Aoife O'Connor and Mark Harmon have captured O'Devaney Gardens in Dublin, the community that they grew up in, during the final months of its detenanting and demolition. Aoife and Mark worked with me to learn photography skills and video editing skills, developing the narrative of their documentary and producing the finished work.

ODG: KINGDOM OF DUST includes a series of interviews with residents and local stakeholders, who discuss the portrayal of the flat complex in the media, their hopes for the future and their memories of "ODG".

Aoife and Mark are both members of the MOST Project, a Garda Youth Diversion Project based at Bradog Youth Service. The project works across the north inner city of Dublin and can be contacted on (+353) 018788375.

An exhibition of the photodocumentary (including both film and images) was displayed at the National Museum of Ireland (Decorative Arts & History) from January - March 2019.
